Just One Good Thing: A Faith-Inspired Recipe for Optimism offers readers a phenomenal 28-Day journey to overcoming negative thinking. Blending her love for God’s Word, true stories, and stories of Biblical characters that dealt with life’s negative situations – The author gives a recipe for life that came from a desperate prayer. Thus, this book has been created as a journey (recipe) to turn one’s negative outlook into a positive outlook based on God’s goodness. Her approach is unique and includes daily scripture verses with self-assessment worksheets and thought-provoking questions that encourage study and reflection at the end of each story. In this incredible book readers will learn to avoid pitfalls and dismiss negative thinking and replace their thoughts with a positive outlook that includes God’s goodness and His Word.

Four categories present God as Master - Caretaker, Provider, Teacher  and Counselor. Discover faith in the “in-between” times and develop a new way of thinking. The metaphor, life as a recipe and the need for restocking one’s empty shelves for spiritual life and nourishment, bring delight and is an easy way to think about taking on a new task. Full of Scripture and true stories, this book helps motivate readers to come into optimism instead of defeat, self-pity, depression, discouragement, disappointment and so much more! With humor, candor, and a lifetime of experiences (and stories) the author teaches readers to live a life focused on “I Can” instead of “I Can’t” – with Optimism.

This book is recommended for readers over 18 and is designed for those who are ready to embark on a personal journey to grow their faith and renew their thinking. It is also recommended for those who have lost hope, or who have become weary in life. The author has created a faith-filled journey with this incredible 28-Day journal that includes a unique design – Daily Recipes for Life that simplify the quest in discovering the good things God has in store for the reader. The stories and lesson in "Just One Good Thing" will promote hope and faith for the reader during the "in-between" times.

Honestly, I loved the book. The design of the book was fantastic. I also knew right from the start of Chapter One that this book was God giving me a gift! The title was "Ingredients: The One Good Thing." With such insight, wisdom, and wit, the author spoke such truth into my soul about negativity. Her comments as, "The word negativity is about as a rubbery, overcooked egg," and "Negative thoughts are like potato chips, you can't have just one," will stick with me for the rest of my life. The author made me giggle because I knew she was perfectly correct. For me, her book encompassed many different stories that deeply touched my life such as: worry, self-esteem, a young girl's self-confidence, and so much more. She also conquered that age old question: Are you born a pessimist? If you are, consider this book.
