Departing city life in Montreal, Canada, Diane makes a huge leap for a woman seeking adventure as a truck driver! Her adventures took her far and wide, as she crisscrossed the countryside. A brave woman nonetheless, and an avid fly enthusiast and outdoorswoman, Diane finds “home” as she takes a chance with a blind date, meeting her husband, Gene, also an avid trapper and outdoorsman. These two were meant for each other.
Unraveling the adventure of a lifetime, Finding Peace in the Wilderness, showcases grit, persevering without electricity and running water in a 600 ft. cabin, living against the immense, untouchable backdrop of the southern edge of James Bay Frontier. She makes one realize that there is more to life than the humdrum life of trying to eke out a living in the city. This is a book that will leave an appetite for nature, God, and the unknown to all. A page-turner, this is an unforgettable read about finding peace within the wilderness and the joy to a simpler life.
