The Bridge of Hearts: Building Trustworthy Connections by Bestselling Amazon author Johnny L. Dudley is a reflective and tremendously insightful book offering Biblical hope in Jesus Christ. Shedding light on God’s intentions towards the creation of mankind and Jesus Christ’s sacrifice that has reunited man to God, the author presents a journey paralleling the Old Covenant Tabernacle and the redeeming and sanctifying work of Jesus’s blood in the New Covenant. By presenting the journey within the heart to spiritual renewal, the pattern that emerges is seven steps encompassed in the building and entering into the Holy of Holies. Fascinating and full of Biblical wisdom and knowledge, the author has written this book from years studying the Bible and will leave readers with renewed understanding concerning the heart and building trustworthy connections.
Dudley begins by stating that we were not only created to receive God’s love but to return His love, as well as returning God’s love to others. Building bridges and connecting hearts is about becoming transformed by the nature and the Spirit of God. Blending his own personal stories that reflect the nature of the self-absorbed and self-gratifying heart, alongside Scripture and scriptural insight, a pattern of renewing the heart emerges. This pattern is the same pattern the Levites used to build and come into the Holy of Holies; It is the secret place within the Temple. That same pattern is offered to us Biblically to regenerate and redeem one’s own heart for acceptance by God. And thus, have a living relationship with God.
A balanced teaching with a firm Biblical foundation relates to readers how one can build trustworthy connections through a sanctified heart that is fully surrendered to God. Filled with Scripture, the author offers a firm understanding of the creation of Adam and Eve, their temptation, and their fall that affected all of humanity - Until the incorruptible seed of the Kingdom came, Jesus Christ, who was God's infallible Word made flesh.
Seven steps are in the pattern’s three dynamics as the author states, “The pattern is God’s clear and pointed instructions for returning his love and becoming one in heart, mind, soul, and strength.” Each step is representative of the steps taken by the Levites in entering the Tabernacle to the most Holy place. One’s heart must be spiritually cleansed, renewed, and fully surrendered to be one Spirit of the Lord. The Ministry of Reconciliation with God is then restored for all who are born again, as one seeks to cleanse, renew, and give one’s heart wholeheartedly to the Lord. By obtaining a Christ-like nature, one learns to live out pure love - first towards Jesus, then towards others.
This comes as an excellent read that gives wisdom from the Bible, presenting the mystery of God’s grace with an everlasting hope, pointing readers to Jesus Christ. The Bridge of Hearts: Building Trustworthy Connections is highly recommended for those looking to strengthen and deepen their faith, fostering trustworthy connections.
