The Forum Book Review

The Book Review presents - The Forum: A Deadly Game of Wheat and Tares by Ronald Winters offers a riveting fictional account of “real world end time events, current day attitudes and directions of the spirit of the times in which we live.”

Barak Zonman, starts off this fast-paced thriller, blending elements of espionage with a religious and political polarization that affect the masses of population around the World. In the book, there is a conspiracy to bring all faiths into one large interfaith religion and Barak Zonman and his popular TV show – The Forum must be eliminated.

This begins with Zonman, the show’s founder. The Forum “is a faith oriented call-in TV show designed to let viewers question leading members of the clergy.” Controversial in nature, this show sparks debate – and hinders the worldwide current of leading all into one faith and world peace. This novel of the wheat and tares is an amazing book written to those that would seek truth in God and the true Christian faith.

Running for his life, Barak finds sanctuary in a church and finds himself radically changed by a baptism by water, followed by a baptism of the Spirit, as evidenced by the speaking in tongues. Highlighting this issue, the author speaks of the controversy between believers on being “born again” (either by just statement and belief and/or by receiving the infilling of the Spirit, as evidenced by speaking in tongues). This radical way of being born again and receiving the Spirit is what Apostle Paul spoke of, thus, the book sheds light on God’s way versus man’s way. Man’s way and God’s way are running a collision course to the End Times in this book that reveal an exciting plot of scenarios begun by two Prologues that concurrently blend modern-day questions and events that has been spoken of in Bible Prophecy. The author also notes that we are in the time of the Olivet Discourse that Jesus speaks of on the Mount of Olives, mentioning the time of Jesus return as near since the birth of Israel in May 1948.

In the back of the book the author offers his personal testimony, delivered instantly from prescription drug dependency when “he looked in the mirror” and repented of his ways. Holding fast to true repentance, the author advocates true Holy Ghost filled deliverances and that the modern-day believer should have them as a norm, instead of replaced by the Forum so to speak – the modern day church who compromises and duplicates the actual workings of the Holy Spirit by replacing them with good theology, programs and modern day mood alteration technology. He also offers observations on some relevant issues, two being backsliding and tithing.

This book comes highly recommended for those that look to fill the void inside, but are not sure what they are looking for. And for those that enjoy thrillers with the elements of religious and political overtones. Recommended either for a personal read or as a tool to reach the unbeliever, the book highlights the End Times and gives a faith-filled read that speaks of the true evidence found in an all-powerful God. Based on Barak’s faith-filled experience, the book offers challenging questions to believers and to non-believers (the wheat and the tares) as to the times that we are living in and gives a warning to the group of believers that call themselves, the Church.

A CBM Christian Book Review - He Sent His Son

A CBM Christian Book Review - He Sent His Son: Eyewitness Accounts by Jim & Carol Zeigler takes readers through a delightful experience of eyewitness accounts taken from the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ birth in Luke and Matthew.

Beginning with the announcement of the Angel Gabriel to Mary, readers will gain keen insight into the sharing of the events leading up to and following the birth of Christ. Concisely written, the author highlights the true meaning of Christmas, the salvation of Jesus and what that means to those who believe and those who would not believe.

Jesus’ birth and His coming as the Messiah was foretold in the Bible as the author gives insight into the Jewish traditions, the names and meanings of some of the Hebrew names of God while speaking of the hope in the One who was born to save all who would believe upon His Name.

Revealing the political and religious climate in Jesus’ time, and mentioning historical aspects of the Bible, Jesus’ prophesied coming in Isaiah, coupled with the events leading up to Jesus’ birth make for a faith-filled journey.

As Christmas is just around the corner, the author speaks of Christmas as one of his favorite holidays. Yet, traditionally speaking, he describes Christmas as a time of benevolence, gift-giving and time with family. This “worldly” way and commercializing of Christmas has crowded out the holiness and honor that this season holds for each person who believes (and for those who do not yet believe).

He speaks of the Christmas holiday that has become nothing more than a greedy intent to bring money surrounded by false traditions and stories such as Santa Claus, the Elves and Reindeer. (One cannot dispel the fact that he speaks truth about the Christmas season and what the commercialism, not to mention spending money that we don’t have). Thus, the purpose of the book is to remind and teach others of the sanctity of Christmas and point those to the Messiah that was born to die for His People’s sins.

The author states (speaking about Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds, the Wise Men, the Inn Keeper, Herod, Isaiah, Simeon and Anna, “We can learn from them the way we are to live our lives, believing God will always accomplish His will. We need to live expecting His appearance anytime.” Powerfully written, this book will speak to your heart and mind, bringing such a deep appreciation for the salvation of Jesus.

With such chapters as: Gabriel-The Angel Sent from God to Announce the Coming of Messiah, Mary-The Young Mother of Jesus, Joseph-The Stepfather Who Raised Jesus, The Innkeeper-Unknown by Name and Oft Maligned, The Shepherds-Those Who Were Looking for His Coming, Isaiah-The Prophet Who Told Israel How to Recognize the Good King, The Wise Men-Who Followed the Star to Find the King, Herod-The Evil False King of Judah, Simeon-Who Waited for the Consolation of Israel, and Anna-The Prophetess Who Served in the Temple.

This is a wonderful book to read during this coming Christmas season, to give to family and friends, and to teach children the deep blessing of Christmas or just to reinvigorate faith. Hats off to these writers who took the time to remind us all just how important and wonderful this season is! This book also comes highly recommended to use an evangelical outreach to those that would need the faith to believe. He Sent His Son is an excellent faith-filled journey through the birth of Christ that will not only rekindle faith, but also birth faith in others to believe in the salvation of Jesus as the Savior and Messiah of the World!
